Our client, a well-established civil engineering company with a successful 30+ year history in delivering major infrastructure projects across PNG, is entering an exciting phase of growth following the award of several new contracts. They are now seeking a highly capable and experienced Operations Manager to join their team and drive continued success.
About the Role
As Operations Manager, you will oversee the delivery of all Port Moresby-based civil and infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will play a pivotal role in operational strategy, leadership, and business development, while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders including clients, government entities, and traditional landowners.
This is a senior role that requires strategic vision, hands-on project experience, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of Port Moresby-based civil and infrastructure projects from award to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered within timeframe, budget, and quality expectations.
- Champion operational efficiency to improve margins and reduce overheads.
- Drive high-performance outcomes through leadership of project teams.
- Address operational challenges with innovative, practical solutions.
- Enhance reporting and project governance aligned with approved designs.
- Improve tendering consultation processes for better project setup.
- Ensure seamless handover from Tendering to Operations and Finance.
- Mentor and develop staff with a focus on succession planning and localization.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with traditional landowners.
- Instil a safety-first culture aligned with zero-harm principles.
- Drive business development and identify growth opportunities.
- Strengthen relationships with key clients and stakeholders to support long-term partnerships.
