We have an immediate requirement for a Service Manager to join our team in Port Moresby Brian Bell Technical Service team.
The role:
Reporting to the Service Operations Manager, the Service Manager will assist in overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring high-quality performance and support for technicians working at customer sites. The Service Manager is tasked with the requirement to meet monthly sales budgets. In addition, the Service Manager is responsible for the maintenance of Air Conditioning and White Goods at Brian Bell Properties.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the HVAC and Air Conditioning industry, with additional knowledge in electrical, plumbing, and gas fitting being advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fulfill budget requirement: Engage with customers to maintain monthly sales targets and grow the business. Review and monitor costs to comply with business unit budgets.
- Support Technicians: Provide technical guidance and support to technicians working on-site, ensuring they have the necessary resources and knowledge to perform their tasks efficiently.
- Team Management: Assist in managing the workshop team, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and training to maintain high standards of quality and productivity.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure all work meets industry standards and customer expectations.
- Customer Service: Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
- Technical Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of HVAC systems to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Project Coordination: Assist in planning and coordinating projects, ensuring timely completion and efficient use of resources.
- Coaching & Development: On site monitoring of technical ability and performance to gauge team member requirements for development. Also set frequent training modules for all technicians
- Administration: Inventory Management; oversee inventory levels, ensuring the availability of necessary parts and equipment for ongoing projects. Support the National Service Administrator with administration of timecards and monitoring applied hours productivity. Follow up with customers to gain feedback on work quality.
- Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Business Management and/or related field would be ideal
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related fields.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the HVAC and air conditioning industry. Experience in electrical, plumbing, and gas fitting is a plus.
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, with additional knowledge in electrical and plumbing systems being advantageous.
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Potential must be flexible to work Saturdays, and on public holidays when required. This role requires a Police Clearance certificate as a minimum requirement.
