- EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Air Niugini is Papua New Guinea’s national airline. With a major fleet renewal and business transformation program currently underway, Air Niugini is now looking for an accomplished executive to join its Leadership Team to contribute to its strategic growth objectives and maintain operational excellence.
Chief Legal Officer (CLO)
The CLO will act as the principal legal advisor to ANL’s Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors, and Senior Management, to ensure compliance with aviation regulations, corporate governance standards, and relevant key legislation in PNG and globally. Candidates with proven experience in corporate, commercial & aviation law are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities of the CLO:
- Provide strategic legal counsel on business decisions, contracts, and governance.
- Oversee compliance with relevant aviation and corporate laws.
- Manage ANL contracts, transactions, and legal risks.
- Lead litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution.
- Engage with government agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Lead, manage and ensure best performance of ANL’s Legal and Compliance Department.
- Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in Law
- Post graduate qualifications are an advantage and preferred.
- Admission to practice law in Papua New Guinea or a Commonwealth jurisdiction
- 10+ years of corporate legal experience in the private sector
- 5+ years in a senior legal role in aviation, transport, or logistics
