CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER
 
Kumul Minerals Holdings Limited (KMHL) is a State-Owned-Entity, operating as a commercial enterprise, principally in mineral exploration, development, production, processing and marketing activities. KMHL is also mandated as the exclusive nominee to hold and manage mining investments on behalf of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. 
 
KMHL currently holds a 67% interest in Ok Tedi Mining Limited, 36% interest in New Pogera Limited & is focused on investing in quality mining projects to create more value for our shareholders.
 
Successful candidate will be required to drive strategic direction, retention, growth & expansion through proactive thought leadership & demonstrated value- added advocacy. This is a dynamic role and you must be comfortable with frequent multi-tasking between management, technical, business, strategy, marketing, and planning activities which are vital for the successful delivery of the role responsibilities.
 
KMHL is now inviting and encouraging exceptional candidates to apply for the role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to join their Executive Leadership Team. The CCO will play a vital role in leveraging mining engineering expertise to deliver industry-specific solutions, ensuring operational efficiency, and driving sustainable growth while maintaining KMHL’s leadership in the mining industry.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide commercial & financial advice on deal structure.
  • Direction: Contribute and guide KMHL's strategic, commercial, and policy direction
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement best practice solutions and minimise risks.
  • Negotiation Leadership: Lead commercial negotiations for favourable outcomes for KMHL
  • Financial Modelling: Evaluate project feasibility using best practice modelling tools
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain, develop and build key stakeholder relationships
  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue projects and relationships to expand markets
  • Bid Management: Work with relevant departments to develop accurate and consistent bids.
  • Mining Expertise: Apply mining expertise /knowledge to industry-specific solutions.
Job Requirements:



Key Requirements:
 
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Accounting and/or Economics (preferably MBA).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or Geology.
  • 10+ years experience in senior executive management in mining / resources in PNG /or Internationally
  • 10+ years proven experience in client & stakeholder management
  • 10+ years managing and establishing successful investment portfolios.
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, execution, and management.
  • Proven success managing significant projects within the mining industry or a similar sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation skills
  • In-depth understanding of investment policies and guidelines.
