We have an immediate requirement for a License Customs Agent to join our team in Port Moresby.
 
The Role:
Reporting to the Shipping & Logistics Manager, the License Customs Agent must be a Customs compliant agent who will facilitate import of goods while ensuring taxes and duties are paid on time and all legal requirements are met.
 
 Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive import documents and prepare necessary paperwork for clearance
  • Approve and arrange payment of customs duties and shipping charges
  • Liaise with Port Services, NAQIA, Customs and PNG Ports Operation
  • Attend to general queries with regard to Customs, NAQIA, PNG Ports, Port Services and all shipping companies
  • Air Freight and post clearance
  • Check and approve branch clearance for Lae and Rabaul
  • Attend PNGSBA meetings
  • Attend customs meetings
Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Must have a valid PNG Customs Broker License
  • Proven experience as a License Customs Agent / Customs Broker
  • More than 5 years' experience liaising with PNG Customs Service
  • Must be knowledgeable in PNG Customs Tariff
  • Knowledge of PNG Customs legislation, regulations and current standard operating procedures
  • Incumbent must have a clean Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Report with PNG Customs Service
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with ASYCUDA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and team management skills
  • Well-developed computer skills - proficient in MS Word & MS Excel
  • Valid driver’s license is preferable 
  • We are offering a competitive salary and benefits for the ideal candidate who must be flexible to work Saturdays, and on public holidays when required.  This role requires a Police Clearance certificate as a minimum requirement.
