District Administrator position for Jimi

The Jiwaka Provincial Administration is seeking a District Administrator for Jimi to lead and oversee all administrative functions at the district level. This role is responsible for budgeting, planning, and implementing district programs in compliance with relevant laws and policies.

The successful candidate will ensure the effective and efficient management of district administration, driving service delivery and development initiatives to achieve targeted outcomes for the community.

Key responsibilities:
 
  • The District Administrator will provide the Leadership in the overall coordination, monitoring and evaluation of all program activities under the District Administration
  • Oversee, implement and enforce local regional, and national policies within the district, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day administrative operations within the district including budgetary allocations.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the district budget, allocating resources efficiently to meet community needs and government priorities.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with community members, leaders, and stakeholders. Address concerns and facilitate communication between the community and government.
  • Supervise and manage district staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations in line with the contract of employment you are required to do SPA per biannual and report to HRM. Foster a productive and collaborative work environment.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to plan and oversee infrastructure projects, such as roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and other public services.
  • Coordinate and lead responses to emergencies or crises within the district, working closely with local authorities and emergency services.
  • serve as a representative of the district in public events, meetings, and media interactions. Communicate government initiatives and policies effectively.
  • Collect and analyze data related to district demographics, socioeconomic indicators, and other relevant information to inform decision-making and policy development.
  • ensure that all district activities comply with applicable laws and regulations. Address legal issues and liaise with legal authorities when necessary.
  • Work closely with other government agencies at various levels to facilitate cooperation, resource-sharing, and the implementation of joint initiatives.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts within the district, whether they involve community disputes, personnel issues, or other conflicts that may arise.
