ACCOUNTS PAYABLE OFFICER

Reporting to the Accountant the accounts payable officer is required to ensure that accounting functions are accurate and on time. 
 
AIRCON TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the Manager – Facilities and Maintenance, the Aircon Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and proper functioning of all air conditioning systems within the organisation.
 
CHIEF STEWARD

The Chief Steward position is responsible for managing all aspects of cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance of kitchen equipment and dining areas. The Chief Steward ensures the highest standards of sanitation and safety, leading a team of stewards to support food and beverage operations.
Job Requirements:
 
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE OFFICER

Key Responsibilities 
 
  • Raising Payments/Purchase Orders
  • Invoice payments
  • Investigate and follow up on invoices
  • Supplier account reconciliation
  • Maintain an accounts payable ledger
  • Prepare payment for suppliers’ invoices according to payment schedules.
  • Ensures that invoices and payments are properly approved and processed and keeps track of what's owed to vendors, ultimately controlling expenses for an accurate balance sheet.

Skills and qualities
 
  • Diploma in Accounting or higher.
  • Excellent knowledge of internal accounting practices.
  • 2-3 years relevant experience in the accounts department. 
  • Knowledge of accounting packages, preferably MYOB.
  • Strong English and communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and timeframes.
 
AIRCON TECHNICIAN

Key responsibilities:
 
  • Preventative maintenance:
Regularly inspecting and servicing all air conditioning units, including cleaning filters, checking refrigerant levels, and lubricating moving parts to prevent breakdowns. 
 
  • Troubleshooting and repairs:
Diagnosing issues with air conditioning systems, such as malfunctioning thermostats, leaking refrigerant, or faulty compressors, and performing necessary repairs. 
 
  • Part replacement:
Ordering and replacing worn or damaged components within air conditioning units as needed. 
 
  • Temperature monitoring:
Monitoring room temperatures in guest rooms and public areas to ensure they are within the desired range and adjusting settings as required. 
 
  • Recordkeeping:
Maintaining detailed logs of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used. 
 
  • Emergency response:
Addressing urgent air conditioning issues that may arise during guest stays. 
 
  • Compliance with safety standards:
Adhering to all safety protocols related to working with refrigerants and electrical systems. 

Required skills:
 
  • Technical knowledge:
In-depth understanding of air conditioning systems, including their components, operating principles, and troubleshooting techniques. 
 
  • Electrical skills:
Basic electrical knowledge for diagnosing and repairing electrical issues within air conditioning units. 
 
  • Problem-solving abilities:
Analyzing situations to identify the root cause of air conditioning problems and develop effective solutions. 
 
  • Attention to detail:
Carefully inspecting systems and components to identify potential issues before they become major problems. 
 
  • Physical ability:
Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment. 
 
  • Customer service skills:
Maintaining a positive attitude and interacting with guests and staff regarding air conditioning concerns. 
 
CHIEF STEWARD

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Supervision and Leadership:
  • Lead, train, and manage the stewarding team.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to stewards, ensuring efficient operation.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
2.  Sanitation and Hygiene:
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas.
  • Implement and uphold cleaning schedules and sanitation standards.
3.  Inventory Management:
  • Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies, kitchen tools, and equipment.
  • Order supplies as needed and conduct regular stock checks.
  • Monitor and minimize waste in stewarding operations.
4.  Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the culinary team to coordinate needs and address concerns.
  • Liaise with other departments, including service staff, to ensure smooth operations.
5.  Training and Development:
  • Train new hires in cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Provide ongoing training and support to the stewarding team to foster career advancement.
6.  Budget Management:
  • Assist in developing and managing the stewarding budget.
  • Monitor expenditures and suggest cost-effective practices.
7.  Reporting:
  • Prepare reports on cleanliness, inventory, and team performance.
  • Address and resolve any complaints or issues related to stewarding services.
