CATEGORY MANAGER – HARDWARE HAUS LAE

Job Description:

Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends.
Devise long term development strategies for product categories.
Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products.
Foster relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services.
Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands.
Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility.
Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities or a product category.
Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories.
Make forecast for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory.
Gather customer feedback and industry trends to continuously improve product offerings and services.

Job Requirements:: The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in retail category management, preferably within the hardware, home improvement, or similar industries.
Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and make informed decisions.
Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers and vendors.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with suppliers, cross-functional teams and customers.
Proficiency in retail management software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, ERP Systems, POS Systems).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, results- driven organization.
