CIVIL/STRUCTURAL DRAFTSMAN
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Civil/Structural Draftsman will assist in creating detailed technical drawings and designs for civil and structural projects, including roads, bridges, culverts, retaining walls, drainage systems, and buildings. Working closely with the Senior Civil/Structural Design Engineer, the draftsman ensures that designs are accurately translated into construction-ready drawings. This role requires proficiency in drafting software, attention to detail, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Drafting and Design
- Prepare detailed civil and structural engineering drawings using software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit.
- Develop plans, sections, elevations, and detailed drawings for roads, buildings, bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and drainage systems.
- Create 3D models and visualizations to support project planning and presentations.
2. Technical Support
- Work closely with engineers to interpret design requirements and ensure accuracy in drawings.
- Modify and update drawings based on engineer feedback or project changes.
- Maintain project drawing files and ensure version control.
3. Quality Assurance
- Ensure all drawings adhere to company standards, client requirements, and relevant codes (e.g., AASHTO, BS, Eurocode).
- Conduct self-checks and peer reviews to identify and rectify errors in drawings.
- Assist in the preparation of design documentation, including layout plans and as-built drawings.
4. Collaboration
- Collaborate with the survey team to integrate survey data into designs.
- Coordinate with the Senior Civil/Structural Design Engineer and other team members to meet project deadlines.
- Attend design meetings to understand project scopes and requirements.
