Manager Land Development – Asset Management Unit (AMU), ELC-PNG

Location: Lae, Papua New Guinea
Sector: Support Services Department
Division: Asset Management Division

The Asset Management Unit, reporting to the ELC-PNG Treasurer, is seeking a Manager of Land Development to oversee strategic land projects, manage key stakeholder relationships, and contribute to income generation and property protection for the church. This role involves working closely with the Manager of Rentals and the Advisor(s) to deliver sustainable land development and rental income. The Manager of Land Development and the Manager of Rentals with the Advisor(s) form jointly the Management Team of the Asset Management Unit.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Lead land development initiatives and lead the team creating zoning/ operational plans for church-owned properties.
  • Represent the church in negotiations with government officials and business partners.
  • Supervise the work of the Surveyor and the Regional AMU Representatives.
  • As a member of the Management Team ensures a high level of financial performance & compliance.
  • Initiate and oversee legal protection of church properties.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Rentals on property rentals and strategic asset management.
Job Requirements:


Qualifications & Skills:
 
  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Land Management, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master's Degree or relevant certifications in Property Development or Project Management will be an advantage.
  • Experience: Proven experience in land development, project management, and property-related risk management. Knowledge of land tenure systems and substantial experience in working with government authorities is required.
  • Skills: Ability to prepare budgets, business plans, and detailed scopes of work. Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills are essential. Experience with legal frameworks and property protection is also required.
