Job Description:

City Pharmacy is seeking a Clinical Health Extension Officer (HEO) to join our team at the Wellness Clinics. Responsibilities:
  • Provide essential primary health care, including health check-ups, screenings, and treatment of common ailments.
  • Build rapport with clients, displaying empathy and respect during interactions.
  • Lead clinical activities and oversee patient referrals.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and administer first aid as needed.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to conduct health screenings and manage results.
  • Offer medication and wellbeing counseling to clients.
  • Report clinical data timely to management, identifying trends or outbreaks.
  • Conduct health and wellness workshops for employees and clients.
  • Work collaboratively with the clinical team and management to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
  • Diploma in Health Extension or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered Health Extension Officer with the Medical Board.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a Clinical Health Extension Officer.
  • Excellent clinical skills with knowledge of public health challenges in PNG.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and colleague interactions.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine concern for others' well-being.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Certifications in health-related areas and experience in conducting educational workshops are a plus.
