Quality Control Officer
 
This role is Port Moresby based.
 
About your next role:
We are looking for an experienced Quality Control Officer officer to join our PEC team. The Quality Control Officer is responsible for ensuring that all HVAC installations and systems meet the company’s quality standards and industry regulations. This role involves inspecting installations, testing system performance, and collaborating with project teams to resolve any issues.
 
Your background and experience:
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to diversify their experience in a new environment. You are motivated, outcomes focused and a self-starter. Ideally you will have:
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines for HVAC systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of HVAC installations to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Monitor and verify the quality of materials and workmanship used in HVAC projects.
  • Perform tests on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Analyse test results and identify any deviations from quality standards.
  • Document and report findings and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure all HVAC installations comply with local building codes, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Stay updated on the latest HVAC technologies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance to project teams on compliance and quality standards.
  • Identify and address quality issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve any installation or performance issues.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid future quality problems.
  • Train and educate project teams on quality control processes and best practices.
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality performance and improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate quality metrics and progress to management and stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
Applicants for this role must meet the following Essential requirements to be considered.
  • Proven experience in quality control or a similar role preferably in HVAC and construction industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Following attributes are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with quality control methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Papua New Guinea.
  • Experience with HVAC testing equipment and software.
