Rotarians Against Malaria (RAM) is seeking a motivated and experience candidate to fill in the immediate vacancy of Project Officers.
 
About Rotarians Against Malaria 
 
Rotarians Against Malaria (RAM) is a Papua New Guinea (PNG) Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which works with malaria control in partnership with the National Department of Health (NDoH). While the organisation was created in 1997, it was not until 2010 that is began to grow after receiving funds from the Global Fund. The Global Fund program started in 2010 with 20 people and over the years has grown to have a staff of up to 120 people.
 
In collaborations with NDoH, RAM carries out the following activities:
 
  1. Procurement and distribution of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) to every village in PNG which is affected by malaria. RAM normally distributes over one million LLINs each year.
  2. Procurement and delivery of drugs and LLINs for pregnant women to every health centres in PNG every quarter.
  3. Since 2020, Home Management of Malaria where village volunteers in remote villages of PNG are trained to test and treat for malaria in their communities. Presently in seven provinces and now expanding to another three provinces.
  4. RAM along with two implementing partners which are the PNG National Department of Health (NDoH) and the PNG Institute of Medical Research (IMR) who implements the GF Malaria Grant.
 
The Role
PROJECT OFFICER
Reporting to the LLIN Team Leader, the Program Officer will engage with communities, community leaders and health facility Officer in charge to conduct survey for all households then facilitate distribution of nets as per the survey.

The job is based in Port Moresby, RAM office and also out in the field (other provinces) 90% of the time, and only 10% spent in Port Moresby.

Job Requirements:



Key Selection Criteria
 
  • 3+ years’ experience in NGO and working knowledge of major international donors
  • Field work experience
  • Ability to train and facilitate distributions
  • Good Communications and people skills
  • Demonstrate excellent Computer skills and report writing skills
