CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER


Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational aspects of the organization, enhancing productivity, and driving growth in a highly dynamic and competitive industry. This role is critical to the airline’s success, ensuring all operational activities are aligned with the company’s mission and values and driving strategic operational initiatives.

 
CHIEF QUALITY, SAFETY, RISK & AUDIT OFFICER


Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Quality, Safety, Risk & Audit Officer will be responsible for the Management and Control of overall Corporate Quality, Safety, Risk, and Audit Division Functions and its resources (personnel and equipment). The role is critical in ensuring the airline’s Quality Assurance System, Safety Management System, and emergency response capability are effective. This position is a senior person's role described in the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of PNG Rules Part 119.

Experience & Qualifications:
 
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in operational leadership roles within the aviation industry, with a focus on managing complex operations
  • In-depth understanding of aviation industry dynamics, regulations, safety protocols, and best practices
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing operational strategies and driving process improvements
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a results-oriented mindset
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to navigate through ambiguity
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as needed.


 
CHIEF QUALITY, SAFETY, RISK & AUDIT OFFICER


Experience & Qualifications:
 
  • Degree or post-graduate qualifications in a related field.
  • Lead Auditor Certificate and Certificate in Quality Assurance
  • Prior senior management experience (minimum 5 years) in a similar role in an international airline (or significantly sized domestic airline) in flight operations or maintenance and engineering
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Experience in the preparation of reports and projections for Board level discussions
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent business communication skills
  • Proven success working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to drive transformation through innovation and effective change management strategies
