Reporting directly to the senior mining engineer or the mine technical services manager, the Planning engineer will be a part of the site tech team providing mine planning and engineering support to the Mining operations team, whilst producing workable and realistic mining schedules in a timely manner. The successful candidate will be part of the planning team delivering safe, quality designs and sustainable production schedules to support the mine production team to achieve the company’s production targets. As the planning Engineer onsite, you will ensure that other technical projects are progressed in a timely manner.
To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements;
Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering – Required
Minimum of (3) years’ experience in an underground mining environment specific to Narrow Vein Mining – Highly regarded
Surpac software experience and mine planning – Required
Strong computer skills with mine design and scheduling programs - Required
Ventilation experience and blasting knowledge, geotechnical and surveying – Highly regarded
Sound knowledge of safe mining practices and mining standards in an underground Narrow Vein Mine - Required
Five plus (5+) years’ experience in the industry performing similar roles – Required
Good safety record with ability to demonstrate safety leadership – Required
Good team player with strong communication skills – Required
Mining Operations experience – Preferred
Clean police record - Required
Class three (3) driver’s license - Required
